This year Ash Wednesday is on Wednesday 18th February, this is the beginning of Lent. It is a day of fasting and abstinence.
A series of 6 talks have been prepared for this Lent. We are providing advanced notice of these talks to enable you to make preparations that will assure your participation.

Six talks focusing on the very heart of Catholic life, explore what the Mass reveals about God, the Church, and our Christian identity, allowing us to grow in gratitude and reverence for the Eucharist, while deepening our awareness of Christ’s presence, and revitalising our prayerfulness.
It is an unmissable opportunity for spiritual renewal and deeper liturgical understanding, strengthening our individual faith and enriching our parish life.
Over this Lenten journey, participants will see the Mass, not as a static ritual but as a living tradition with deep historical continuity. They will gain a biblical understanding of why the Church celebrates the Eucharist as Christ commanded. And come to see the Mass as a dialogue – God speaks and the Church responds in Faith.
They will grasp fully why the Eucharistic Prayer is the "centre and summit" of the celebration, how Holy Communion is both a gift and a responsibility beyond the doors of the church, shaping daily discipleship. And they will complete the course renewed in faith, and understanding the Mass as a vital reorientation of heart, mind, and life, grounded in the knowledge that the Eucharistic is a foretaste of the heavenly banquet that we are all striving towards.
Come along to one or all of the talks and you will learn a little more about our faith and have the opportunity to enrich your own spiritual life.
