Parish Pastoral Council
Since October 2025, St Vincent's Parish has been taking an important step forward with the formation of our new Parish Pastoral Council (PPC). The Council has now met four times and has been busy putting in place a structure that will help support the life and future of our parish.
The Parish Pastoral Council works alongside Fr Emeka to help identify the needs of our parish, encourage participation, and support the many ministries and activities that make St Vincent's such a special community.
Over the past few months, much of our work has focused on listening, planning and establishing how the Council will operate. Now that this structure has been agreed, we would like to share it with you.
Our vision is simple: "Together in Christ, United in Compassion." Inspired by the life and example of our patron, St Vincent de Paul, we want to be a parish where faith and compassion go hand in hand, where we care for one another, and where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Working with Fr Emeka, the Council aims to help our parish:
-
Be a welcoming community where everyone feels at home.
-
Grow closer to Christ through prayer, worship and learning about our faith.
-
Support families, encourage young people and care for those who need our help.
-
Work together, recognising that everyone has gifts and talents to share.
-
Put our faith into action through kindness, service and outreach to others.
Most importantly, we want to encourage more parishioners to become involved in the life of the parish. We are all the parish, and each of us has something valuable to contribute.
As part of the new structure, a number of ministry groups are being established to support different areas of parish life. These are as follows:

How parishioners can contribute to the life of St Vincent’s
Fr Emeka, as president of the PPC, has appointed Laura White as chair and Jennie Linnett as secretary of the Council, with other officer roles being recruited.
Everyone has a talent or some time that they may like to share for the good of the parish and we are now looking for other parishioners who would like to be involved in these mission groups or who may be willing to take on one of the lead representative roles.
If you feel called to help in any way, please speak to Fr Emeka, or complete the form below (copies also available at the back of the church) we will arrange a short meeting/call to discuss how you might become involved.
Together, let us continue to build a parish community that is welcoming, faith-filled and united in service to God and one another.
Thank you for all that you do to make St Vincent's such a welcoming and vibrant parish. We ask for your prayers as the Parish Pastoral Council begins this important work, and we look forward to serving our parish community together.
